WHAT IS OMNIDEGRADABLE®?

PLA, Cello and Oxo-Bio flexible packaging options… We found serious flaws and greenwashing in all of them. They all had timelines where they broke down and cracked or flaked on the store shelves. Some producers even added non-biodegradable films to help keep them from falling apart too soon. We searched for newer and better options.

We finally found an option that showed great promise and had all the lab proof to back it up! The five year study that was conducted tested for side effects in: Soil, Delicate Plants, and Insects. It found no harm even at high doses 50 times normal.

The organic additive in our Omnidegradable® packaging materials react with microbes to create an enzyme that can break the long-chain molecules in plastic into pieces small enough for the microbes to consume completely, thereby reverting to their original elements. They leave behind only Water, CO2 or CH4, and a small amount of Organic biomass, all beneficial to plant growth.

Our Omnidegradable® packaging is shelf-stable for as long as you like as it only reacts with microbes found in Oceans and Anaerobic Landfill conditions (worst case scenario). The time frame to degrade is dependent on many factors such as: Gauge (thickness), Density and Type of Plastic, as well as the state of microbial activity at the site where it is disposed of. A swamp in South Florida will degrade much faster than a Lake in Alaska, for example. A 0.5 mil. Low Density Polyethylene film will degrade much faster than a 20 mil. High Density Polyethylene Shampoo bottle.

Our packaging materials do not depend on water, heat, sunlight or oxygen to degrade. They only rely on one thing, microbes in anaerobic landfills or oceans.
